Henry County Historical Society Museum
The Henry Country Historical Society was formed in 1963 to help preserve the importance of this community. Through generous donations by local citizens and businesses, the society has assembled and preserved thousands of artifacts to tell the history of Henry County Illinois in this vast one-story museum.
Henry County is known as the “Hog Capital of the World”. Farming has always been an important asset to the area. In addition to the hog raising, beef cattle, dairy herds, grain, Christmas trees, potatoes, and even poultry flocks can found here. Vibrant villages, small towns, and cities helped support creative and visionary entrepreneurs establish a number of nationally recognized implement, machinery and manufacturing companies.
