The holiday season will be opened the traditional Swedish way during Julmarknad, (Christmas Market) from 10 am – 5 pm Friday, November 28th through Sunday, November 30th and Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th in historic Bishop Hill.
The free events attractions include Swedish Folk Characters and traditional Swedish holiday decorations. Traditional and unique gifts will be for sale. Professional story-teller, Kay Price, will be telling stories for children at 1 and 3 pm both weekends of Julmarknad.
The Wethersfield Elementary Choir will sing at VagnHall Galleri in the historic 1857 Blacksmith Shop at 1 pm on Saturday, December 6th. A cookie walk with homemade baked goods and candies will be the first weekend at the Colony School. There will be a chocolate walk at the Steeple Building the second weekend. Chocolate of all types may be purchased.
Don’t forget about this years Lucia Nights - Festival of Lights, Friday, December 12th and Saturday, December 13th. Featured will be the Peoria Cooperative Academy Chorale, the Galva Congregational Church Bell Choir. Hot drinks and tasty treats are served in most buildings.
